The theme for this year’s Dream Makers Ball is “South Beach”. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County asked us if we could update the 2010 site with a “Save the Date” for this year’s event, and some information about last year’s. When Eric was told about this he immediately asked if he could also update the site’s design to reflect the new theme. See, Eric has a special place in his heart for House music, and the Miami / South Beach area is basically the epicenter of House in the United States. Baseball people have Cooperstown; Surfers have Hawaii; Eric has Miami.
We decided to let him do it (after making him buy us lunch). He immediately set his Pandora radio station to “Club Mix”, put on his headphones, and started designing. We decided that for the “Save the Date” version of the site would keep the design similar to last year’s so that it could still be easily recognizable as the Dream Makers Ball site. What he came up with is a design evocative of the iconic Art Deco hotels that line Ocean Boulevard, overlooking South Beach itself.
